Does cholest off have any side effects?

I was taking gemfibrozil for my cholesterol and do not like how I feel with this medication my joints hurt by the smallest tap, when taking this medication I was told to try cholest off by a friend but I took it today and I fell weird made me sweet and tingling felling in my hands and feet, could this be because I was on prescription and now on this natural med..
