Which works better chi air or the original black colored chi?

my mom bought me both but i have too choose between 1..i heard that the chi air has temperature controls that are great and do not ruin your hair...but i heard that they dont work as well as the originall with no temperature control..btw ive beautiful medium brown-wavy-curly hair-my mom thinks that ill ruin my hair buying a straightner...which one does the better job?1' chi air,or 1' origainl.....please help im stressing abt it....thanks guys!
