Write the trig expression in terms of sin and cos, then simplify: sin x + cot x * cos x?

The book says the answer is csc x. But I'm getting sin x + 1/sin x which equals 1. Help!! (p.s: This book has been wrong before, which is why I'm so frustrated and confused as to whether I'm correct this time or not!)
